Mariposa Butterfly Festival Seeking Sponsors For Butterflies
The Mariposa Butterfly Festival is seeking individuals and groups to sponsor butterflies for the 2012 event to be held May 4, 5, and 6. Sponsors will receive approximately 25 butterfly eggs along with food, habitat, and instructions. If you don’t wish to raise the butterflies, we have almost 50 classrooms of children who would love to raise them for you. Butterfly eggs can be purchased for $50; this includes all that is necessary to watch the tiny eggs metamorphose into caterpillars, then chrysalis, finally emerging into a beautiful butterfly. The process takes about 40 days and requires very little effort. The eggs will be available for pick-up mid-March.
The Mariposa Butterfly Festival will recognize your contribution with a certificate honoring you as a “Painted Lady” donor. You will also be honored on the “Patrons Wall” at the Butterfly Festival Reception and during the Festival.
