Bil Lepp To Perform At The 25th Mariposa Storytelling Festival
Bil Lepp’s brand of tall tales are not the Paul Bunyan legends of your childhood. Award winning storyteller, humorist, and author, Bil stands in his tractor cap and faded jeans and starts his stories with some silly thing a living person has actually done. The story sounds reasonable for the first few moments, then the embellishments start to flow. Bil will be one of six featured master storytellers at the 25th Mariposa Storytelling Festival on March 9 – 11, 2012.
Bil is described as a cross of Woody Allen, Bill Cosby and Jeff Foxworthy. Duke Divinity Magazine said of Bil’s stories: “With Lepp, the sorry, low-down lie becomes a grand and glorious creation, a verbal sculpture in which a hundred small fibs, stretchers, falsehoods and prevarications are piled together, shaped and molded into one stunning, awe inspiring cathedral of flapdoodle and bull.” Listeners of all ages find themselves barely able to stop laughing long enough to catch the next twist in the tale.
Bil appears yearly at the Smithsonian’s Folk Life Festival, the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, TN, and at festivals, corporate events, universities and schools across the nation.
