Master Gardeners Plan 2012 Public Events

In keeping with the mission to provide research-based information to the home gardening public, Mariposa County Master Gardeners have outlined a series of public events for 2012. The annual Spring Plant Sale fundraiser will be held on May 5th, followed by a workshop, Combining Fire Safety and Bird Friendliness on May 19th. June 2nd is slated for the Spring Garden Tour fundraising event and John Muir Celebration. Year-round Vegetable Gardening will be presented on July 21st, to help you prepare for growing vegetables over the winter months.
At Fair Time, on Labor Day Weekend, the group will again staff the Horticulture/Floriculture Building at the Fairgrounds and an encore presentation of Firesafe Landscaping will be presented on Spetember15th. On September 29th and 30th, we shall once more participate in Tomato Fest at our
The Fall Plant Sale fundraiser will be held on October 6th. The concluding public event for 2012 will wrap up the Sustainable Gardening program with a workshop focusing on Attracting Beneficials and Creating a Wildlife Habitat, planned for October 27th.
This broadest effort made by the Mariposa Master Gardeners in public event involvement since the group was founded in 1993, is being made possible with the expansion of our group, as program training had increased in recent years. Membership growth in the north county, has resulted in an increasing number of events and projects taking place there.
