Letter to the Editor - Be Pleasantly Surprised, Shop Mariposa

This letter is in response to "Kittycat", who wrote regarding the demise of Pizza Plus. I, too, am sorry to learn about Steve and the others who are not there anymore. Pizza Plus was our favorite place to go for breakfast, and we'll miss that. But I want to address another thing said in her letter. Specifically, that the merchant's want locals to shop in Mariposa, but the prices are too high and geared for tourists. I own the Mariposa Marketplace, and from the beginning have said that I want locals to have a place to go for things they might have had to go down the hill for in the past. We're in our 4th year now, and have a very loyal local following, as well as people from Ahwahnee, Oakhurst and Coarsegold. We are open 7 days a week, and from 10 am to 8 pm every day but Sunday, when the hours are noon to 7. People consistently tell us that our prices are very reasonable. I know that other stores stayed open longer during summer, too. So come visit downtown again. You may be pleasantly surprised.
