Letters to the Editor - Good News For The Northside

GOOD NEWS FOR THE NORTHSIDE !!!!! I know some of you know that the County of Mariposa put a big generator in at the Coulterville Old School House. It is for the benefit of any of our citizens or tourists who need assistance when the power goes out for over 3 hours. Dr. Mosher from the County in Mariposa has authorized Marvita Sewell who is the Nurse at the Clinic in Greeley Hill and myself, Karen Morse, retired healthcare worker, to open the Schoolhouse to anyone needing a place to go when we have a power outage. At this point it is very simple.....Call Karen Morse (209) 918-3376 and please leave a message. If you are experiencing an emergency that we can help you with by providing a warm and dry place to go and help you get any other help you need, all you have to do is call. 24 hours a day if the power goes out. If you have general questions you can call during the day or e mail me, Karen @ This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it   and I will respond with an answer as soon as I get your message. If you would like to be on our list to advise you of updates on the program, please send me an e mail and we will put you on the e mail list or if you don't have e mail, phone and leave your mailing address and phone number. Mavita and I are working on this daily to ensure that you will not be left stranded with nowhere to call for help if you need assistance. Hopefully everyone has a cord phone that does not need electricity. If you have any special needs that we should know about before we have a power failure so we can be sure you are checked on if the power goes out, please call or e mail so we can contact you to put you on our special needs list. Well that is all for now. We are keeping the sheriffs dept. updated and hoping to get on board with the volunteer fire department. We have access to the emergency trailer which will be brought to the school house should there be an emergency, by the county. Please don't hesitate to call if you need help when the electricity goes out. We hope to have cards out in the merchants and grocery stores that can be filled out and mailed to Marvita and myself. We will follow up with you after receiving correspondence from you. Watch for those cards!!!!
