John C. Fremont Hospital Foundation 31st Anniversary Gala Black & White Ball was held on Saturday, November 5, 2011
The John C. Fremont Hospital Foundation 31st Anniversary Gala Black & White Ball was well attended and raised thousands of dollars for the hospital through a raffle and a auction that featured custom cakes that were made by Mariposa County Sheriff Doug Binnewies, Mariposa County Judges Dana Walton and Wayne Parrish, the John C. Fremont Hospital Dietary Department and Andy Gillespie. While the average auctioned off cake sold for in the area of $60.00, the most heavily bid on cake was by Sheriff Binnewies that went to Candy O'Donel-Brown for $140.00!
Items that were purchased for the hospital included an infrared thermometer, a blood pressure machine and stand, a defibrillator trainer and mannequins, a sonogram machine. Also money was raised to purchase a new door for the E.R. room and a special type of lift for the patients.
The raffle items included a Rubbermaid storage shed by Foster's True Value, a case of wine by Mount Bullion Vineyards, Fresno State women's basketball game tickets and Fresno State men's basketball game tickets by Fresno State Athletics, a photograph by Yosemite Medical Supply, a Happy Burger Diner $10 gift certificate and a shirt, a iPod Shuffle by John C. Fremont Hospital Foundation, a Wellness Basket by San Joaquin Drug and multiple purse's by Past to Present Mercantile.
B.B.'s Catering did an over the top job on catering this event as there were many positive comments on everything from the hors d'oeuvres to the dessert that featured a yummy warm Bread Pudding in Caramel Rum Sauce. After the auction the Smooth Jazz Ensemble had people dancing into the later evening hours.
Kudos to the volunteers for all the work that is involved in organizing an event of this size.
