Photo of the Day - Tuesday May 25, 2010

mariposa-museum

On Saturday May 22, 2010 the Mariposa Museum and History Center was the setting for lots of 'Popping' sounds as the museum held an Open House that featured the 'Antique Flywheelers' presenting an Engine Exposition. Many members of the Flywheelers came to Mariposa to proudly display their restored machines. In the above photo a De Laval Milking Machine that was manufactured in 1923 was busily spinning away. This was the Apha model made by De Laval that produced 1.5 Horsepower at 525 RPM. This fine restoration is owned by Andrew Evans of Reno, Nevada. Other events at the museum included gold panning, free tours of the museum and the stamp mill was also in operation for the fun filled day.
