Mariposa County Unemployment Report for July 2010
The Mariposa County Unemployment rate for July 2010 is at 10.0 % (Prelim).
As the labor force increased in Mariposa County by 470 residents from July 2009 to July of 2010, employers added 330 workers of that number leaving 170 additional workers without employment in the county. The July 2010 labor force is at 10,770 up from 10,300 in July 2009. Those additional 170 residents are included in the total number of unemployed residents in Mariposa County of 1,080.
This is the highest July unemployment rate in Mariposa County going back to at least 1991. The previous highest July was in 2009 when 940 residents were out of work and the unemployment rate was 9.2%.
The Mariposa County Unemployment rate for July 2010 is at 10.0 % (Prelim). That number is Up .2% from June 2010 rate (revised 9.8 %) and that number is .8% higher than July 2009. 1,080 residents were out of work in June 2010. That is 40 More residents who were unemployed compared to June 2010 and 140 More residents out of work compared to July 2009.

The Government had a 2.8% Decrease in jobs from June 2010. That is 70 Less workers in Government for July 2010 compared to June 2010. Year to year numbers show an increase of 80 workers.
The civilian labor force which is the total of all workers, those working and those that are unemployed has Increased by 470 workers from July 2009 to July 2010.
