MCFD call log consists of twelve stations located
throughout the Mariposa community responding to 
countywide incidents.

Monday, January 30 thru Sunday, February 5 

EMS - 9

Fire - 9 (1 vehicle fire), (1 tree fire),
(7 escape control burns or unauthorized burning)

Public Assist - 0

Auto Collision - 0 

 

Spotlight Call of the Week: 

Saturday, February 5, escape control burn of approximately 3 acres in the Midpines area.

Company #21 Midpines, Company #25 Mt. Bullion/Airport, Company #37 Bootjack and Cal Fire responded.

The common denominator in the above fires has been afternoon winds. Please use caution when conducting fuel reduction burns.  Only natural vegetation is permitted in outdoor burning.

Fire – 2 (one vehicle fire, one tree fire)

Spotlight Call of the Week:
 

Sunday, January 29. Hay dumped from the back of a pickup truck caught fire. Started an approximate 10 x 20 spot fire which burned the back half of the truck.  The cause is undetermined at this time.

Company #37 Bootjack, Company #21 Midpines and Cal Fire responded.



 

* Please check the batteries in your carbon monoxide and smoke detectors annually.
   If they have not been changed in one year, it’s time to change them.

* Please have your furnace serviced to make sure that it is functioning properly.

* Please maintain supervision at all times when burning brush piles, have water and hand tools available.

Mariposa County Fire Department would like to remind you to limit possible distractions that could take your attention away from driving.  When driving at high speeds on our mountain roads it is of the utmost importance you concentrate on the roads, your vehicle and the weather conditions.  A distraction of just a split second can be disastrous.
