April 17, 2024 - Mariposa County Unified School District (MCUSD) has announced that it is seeking applicants for two (2) vacant positions on its Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC), MCUSDwhich meets 2-3 times annually.

This citizens' committee is a legal requirement associated with the passage of Measure L, which authorizes District officials to sell general obligation bonds to fund school facilities projects.

According to California Education Code, the prescribed functions of the committee are as follows:
1) Inform the Public. The Committee shall inform the public concerning the District's expenditure of bond proceeds.
2) Review Expenditures. The Committee shall review expenditure reports to ensure that (a) bond proceeds were expended only for the purposes set forth in Measure L; and (b) no bond proceeds have been used for teacher or administrative salaries or other operating expenses.
3) Annual Report. At least once annually, the Committee shall prepare an annual written report, the findings of which shall be summarized to the Board in public session.

The two vacant positions are as follows:
1. Member at Large — needed immediately
2. Member who is a parent/guardian of a child enrolled in the District — needed immediately
