March 23, 2018 - The Mariposa County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue Team will be hosting the 8th Annual Fundraising Dinner on Saturday, March 31, 2018. The event will be held in Building A at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds. Technical demonstrations will begin at 5:00 P.M. The 6:00 P.M. sit-down rib, sausage, beans, salad and dessert dinner will be prepared by the Lions Club and served by SAR Team members.

Raffle prizes will include guns, outdoor gear, a Tandem Parachute Jump, a Scenic Flight over Yosemite and a wide variety of other items. 8 special cakes will be auctioned.
The SAR Team is made up of volunteer members ranging in age from high school students to retirees. Members are required to provide their own equipment, such as hiking gear, GPS units, backpacks, tents, climbing harnesses, headlamps and 4x4 vehicles. The equipment and training are expensive, and, with the exception of Swiftwater Rescue equipment, nearly everything is bought by members or through donations.
