Foothill Patrol Division uniformed officers responded to a call of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon (ADW) in the 7800 block of Beck Avenue. The comments of the call indicated the suspect, 23-year-old Jose Gonzalez Ramos, had stabbed his wife multiple times. When officers arrived at the multi-unit property, they were directed by witnesses to a pathway that ran between units. After the OIS, officers continued down the pathway, where they found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. The Los Angeles Fire Department transported both Ramos and the stabbing victim to a local hospital, where they both died from their injuries.
A knife was recovered from next to Ramos and booked as evidence.
No officers or additional community members were injured during this incident.
Operations Valley Bureau Homicide investigators responded to the scene and are investigating the stabbing death of the victim. Force Investigation Division (FID) investigators responded to the scene and are conducting an investigation into the OIS.
