Fatal Traffic Collision 

February 2, 2026 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office  officials report that on January 31, 2026, at 10:22 p.m., deputies assigned to the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Railroad Canyon Road and Canyon Lake Drive, Canyon Lake, regarding a report of a traffic collision. Upon arrival, deputies located a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian, with an adult female in the roadway suffering from significant injuries. Deputies and paramedics performed life-saving measures, but the female was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station Traffic Team responded and assumed the investigation. Alcohol and/or drugs are not believed to be a factor in the collision. The identity of the decedent is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
