February 25, 2026 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Office officials report that a few months ago, a San Diego Sheriff’s detective initiated a traffic stop for multiple vehicle code violations. The driver’s nervous behavior and inconsistent statements led to a K9 search, which alerted officers to possible narcotics.

A consented search revealed approximately 87 pounds of methamphetamine hidden inside the gas tank and rear quarter panel.

This successful interdiction underscores the importance of vigilance and teamwork in keeping our communities safe.
