Homicide
March 16, 2026 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 9:52 p.m., deputies from the
Perris Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a residence in the 20900 block of Verta Street, in Mead Valley, regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, responding deputies located 56-year-old, Guadalupe Laborin, a resident of Mead Valley, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Laborin was pronounced deceased at the scene. Deputies also located Laborin’s son, 26-year-old Julio Garcia, a resident of Mead Valley, suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Garcia was pronounced deceased at the scene. Responding deputies secured the scene and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.
During the investigation, Laborin was identified as the victim and Garcia was identified as the suspect. This case is active and on-going. No additional suspects are believed to be involved, and no further information will be released at this time.
