April 21, 2026 – Imperial County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Friday, April 17, 2026, at approximately 10:14 A.M. (1014 hours), Imperial ICSO burglaryCounty Sheriff's deputies responded to a residence on the 1000 block of West Evan Hewes Highway in reference to a past occurred burglary. Patrol deputies initiated an investigation and were able to locate leads to the identity of the suspect(s) responsible for this crime.

Deputies conducted an immediate investigative follow up at a residence in El Centro that was associated with a possible suspect involved in the burglary. Upon approaching the residence, deputies observed several items that had been reported stolen by the victim of the burglary. During this time, deputies were able to identify a possible vehicle involved in the burglary.

Deputies located the suspect vehicle in the City of El Centro, which was occupied by three subjects. Upon approaching the vehicle, deputies observed narcotics in plain sight inside of the vehicle. A search of the vehicle incident to the arrest of all three subjects was conducted and more items that were reported stolen from the burglary were located and recovered.

William Wright, a 27-year-old El Centro resident, was arrested for burglary, possession of burglary tools, possession of stolen property, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Humberto Contreras Jr., a 36-year-old Brawley resident, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. Sharina Valenzuela, a 35-year-old Imperial resident, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. All three subjects were booked into the Imperial County Jail.
