Justice for U.S. Sailor, Lamontee Stevenson
May 9, 2026 – San Diego Police Department officials report that San Diego Police Department, NCIS, and the FBI are seeking information information related to the murder of LeMontee Ramone Stevenson, a US
Navy service member stationed in San Diego at the time of his death.
Four separate rewards are currently being offered for the identification, arrest, and conviction of the person(s) responsible, including: $50,000 from the California Governor’s Office, $15,000 from the FBI, $9,000 from NCIS, and $1,000 from San Diego County Crime Stoppers, for a total reward available of up to $75,000.
On August 17, 2019, at approximately 12:50 a.m., the San Diego Police Department received reports of a shooting at a residence, located on the 2700 block of Marcy Avenue, in San Diego. When officers arrived at the scene, they found 19-year-old Stevenson suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Stevenson was transported to a local hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
San Diego Police Homicide Detectives investigating the incident learned Stevenson was attending a house party at the location when Stevenson’s friend became involved in an argument with an unknown Black male. Stevenson’s friend and the unknown male began to physically fight, causing Stevenson to attempt to break up the fight between the two males.
The unknown male (suspect) pointed a handgun at Stevenson and shot him multiple times. The suspect immediately fled the scene. The suspect was described as a Black male adult.
