Fatal Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Collision Under Investigation 

May 21, 2026 – Yuba City Police Department officials report that on May 18, 2026, at approximately 9:23 p.m., officers with the Yuba City Police Department were dispatched to the 2600 block of North Colusa Frontage Road following reports of a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle.

Officers arrived on scene and located an adult female pedestrian who had been struck by an SUV. The pedestrian was found unresponsive and suffered significant injuries. Her walker was also located at the scene.

Medical personnel arrived and immediately began life-saving measures, including CPR. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

The decedent was identified as 69-year-old Balwinder Kaur of Yuba City.

The driver of the SUV remained on scene, was cooperative with investigators, and is assisting with the investigation.

The Yuba City Police Department Traffic Unit assumed the investigation. At this time, investigators do not believe speed or impairment were factors in the collision.
