Stolen Vehicle Suspect Arrested After Pursuit
May 26, 2026 – Palermo, CA – Sutter County Sheriff's Office officials report that on May 18, 2026, at approximately 8:17 a.m., Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) deputies responded to a residence in Palermo regarding a reported stolen vehicle.
The investigation determined an adult male suspect, identified as Seth Green, age 28 of Palermo, took a vehicle without permission and drove it through a detached garage door before fleeing the area. The vehicle was entered as stolen, and a BOLO was broadcast to neighboring law enforcement agencies.
At approximately 9:10 a.m., deputies with the Sutter County Sheriff's Office located the suspect vehicle traveling southbound on Highway 99 near the Highway 70 split. When deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the suspect fled, leading deputies on a vehicle pursuit.
The pursuit came to an end after the suspect collided with a curb, disabling the vehicle. The suspect then fled on foot and was later located hiding inside a nearby trash can. Following a brief struggle, and with assistance from a nearby civilian, deputies took the suspect into custody.
Green was booked into the Sutter County Jail on charges related to pursuit and resisting arrest. Based on this investigation, additional recommended charges include unlawful taking of a vehicle and vandalism.
