July 2, 2026 – Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials report that the Homicide Bureau is seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect(s) responsible for the murder of 50-year-old Damon Eugene Bluthenthal. A $15,000 reward, approved by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, has been offered in exchange for information leading to the apprehension and/or conviction of the person(s) responsible for Bluthenthal’s murder.
On Sunday, December 29, 2024, Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Compton Sheriff’s Station responded to a parking lot at 1920 South Acacia Avenue, further located at the southwest corner of West Artesia Boulevard and South Acacia Avenue, in the city of Compton, to investigate the stabbing death of Damon Eugene Bluthenthal.
When deputies arrived, they located a male, not breathing at the location. Compton City Fire paramedics pronounced Victim Bluthenthal deceased. Subsequent investigation revealed Victim Bluthenthal had been reported missing from his residence in San Pedro on December 24, 2024, to the Los Angeles Police Department, Harbor Division. Bluthenthal’s family is devastated by the loss. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department detectives believe there are witnesses in the neighborhood who may have seen the suspect(s) or know their identities.
