Fatal Traffic Collision 

August 17, 2026 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 5:36 p.m., deputies from the Perris Sheriff’s Station responded to the intersection of Ramona Expressway and Rider Street, regarding a report of a major injury traffic collision involving two vehicles.  Upon arrival, deputies located five injured subjects in one of the vehicles, with two subjects suffering from life-threatening injuries.  The driver and sole occupant of the second vehicle was also injured.  All subjects were transported to local area hospitals for treatment.

One juvenile passenger was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. A second juvenile passenger remains hospitalized in critical condition. The identity of the deceased juvenile will not be released at this time.

The Perris Sheriff’s Station Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.  No arrests have been made; however, the investigation remains ongoing, and no further details will be released at this time.
