September 9, 2026 – Monterey County Sheriff’s Office officials are announcing that the vehicle previously sought in connection with the Amber Alert issued for 14-year-old Diana Galvez Ortega has been located. Investigators continue their efforts to locate Diana and her father, Sergio Galvez Perez.
With assistance from the community, the white Nissan Altima with no license plates was located in Monterey County. THE VEHICLE IS NO LONGER BEING SOUGHT IN CONNECTION WITH THE AMBER ALERT.
The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office continues to ask the community for assistance in locating Diana Galvez Ortega and her father, Sergio Galvez Perez. Sergio is currently wanted for numerous felony violations involving Diana, in which she is the victim. These allegations are extremely serious and are an important part of why locating Diana and ensuring her safety and well-being remain a priority.
Sergio Galvez Perez is described as a 38-year-old Hispanic male adult, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Diana Galvez Ortega is 14 years old and is described as approximately 4 feet 10 inches tall and 100 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
If you see Sergio Galvez Perez or Diana Galvez Ortega, do not approach them. Call 911 immediately.

Since the Amber Alert was issued, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office has received hundreds of calls, emails, and messages containing information related to this investigation. We are grateful to the members of our community who have taken the time to share information and remain vigilant. We recognize that the community has many questions and wants additional information, and we understand that not having those answers can be frustrating. At this time, however, there are details we cannot release without potentially jeopardizing the investigation and our efforts to safely locate Diana. Investigations involving juveniles and allegations of this nature are especially sensitive, and we ask for the community’s patience and understanding as our detectives continue their work. We also ask the public to remain alert for Diana and Sergio and to immediately report any information that may help investigators locate them.
Our responsibility is to protect the integrity of this investigation while providing the public with as much accurate information as we safely can. As the investigation progresses and additional information can be released without jeopardizing those efforts, we will share it with the community.
Our priority remains locating Diana and ensuring her safety and well-being. This remains an active investigation.
