Assault with a deadly weapon – Spring Valley 

September 18, 2026 – San Diego County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Sunday, September 13, 2026, just San Diego County Sheriff Releases Cause and Manner of In-Custody ...before 5:00 P.M., deputies from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff's Station responded to a radio call of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 8100 block of Cacus Street in Spring Valley. The location of where the incident took place is an independent living facility.

The suspect, 62-year-old Gregory Wilkerson, assaulted an 80-year-old female, 73-year-old female, and 62-year-old female. Wilkerson and the three victims (two of the three victims are elderly) were residents at the independent living facility. All three victims were transported to the hospital for their injuries.

The San Diego Sheriff's Elder Abuse Unit was notified of the incident and responded to take over the investigation.

Wilkerson was taken into custody and arrested for two counts of 664/187(a) PC - Attempted Murder, two counts of 368(b)(1) PC - Elder Abuse, 12022.1 PC - Committing a Felony While Out on Bail and 148 (a)(1) PC - Resisting an Officer. Wilkerson was transported and booked at San Diego Central Jail.
