Felony Evading Suspect Arrested 

September 20, 2026 – Ventura County Sheriff's Office officials report that in the month of July 2026, deputies assigned to the Thousand Oaks Police Department were conducting traffic enforcement. Deputies observed a juvenile male subject operating an off-highway electric motorcycle on a public street, in violation of the California Vehicle Code (CVC). Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop on the motorcyclist, but the motorcyclist failed to yield. The motorcyclist recklessly evaded deputies and violated several CVC violations. The motorcyclist put himself and the safety of numerous citizens in danger by failing to stop at designated stop signs, riding at a high rate of speed on a public sidewalk, and even riding on the wrong side of the road. The pursuit of the motorcyclist was ultimately canceled. 

Deputies began an investigation into the motorcyclist and were able to positively identify him. Deputies obtained a search warrant for the motorcyclist’s residence located in the unincorporated area of Thousand Oaks. The motorcyclist was arrested for a violation of VC 2800.2 Felony Reckless Evading and evidence related to the crime was seized.

The Thousand Oaks Police Department would like to remind the public not to illegally operate off-highway electric motorcycles on public streets. The Thousand Oaks Police Department will continue strict enforcement of off-highway electric motorcycles to ensure the safety of the community.
