Fatal Traffic Collision 

October 7, 2026 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at 3:08 a.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff's Station responded to the area of Heacock Street and Poppystone Drive, regarding a report of a traffic collision. Upon arrival, deputies located a collision involving two vehicles with major damage. The driver, and sole occupant, in one vehicle sustained significant injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second vehicle was parked and unoccupied at the time of the collision.

The Moreno Valley Sheriff's Station Traffic Reconstruction team responded and assumed the investigation. The investigation required the full closure of Heacock Street between John F. Kennedy Drive and Gentian Avenue, which has since reopened. The identity of the decedent will not be released at this time pending next-of-kin notification. The cause of the collision is under investigation, and no further details are available at this time.
