October 21, 2026 – Yuba City Police Department officials report that in the early morning hours of October 18, 2026, a Yuba City Police Department B-Graveyard patrol officer conducted a traffic stop on a Kia K4 on B Street, east of Plumas Street, for a vehicle code violation. What began as a routine traffic stop quickly turned into a significant firearms investigation.
During the stop, officers observed a firearm magazine in plain view inside the vehicle. All five occupants were removed from the vehicle, and further investigation revealed multiple firearms.
The front passenger was found in possession of a loaded, concealed Ruger handgun that was not registered. Officers also discovered an unserialized Glock-style handgun, commonly referred to as a "ghost gun," underneath the right rear passenger. A second ghost gun was located underneath the driver's seat. Officers also recovered multiple high-capacity magazines, including a drum magazine.
All five occupants were arrested and booked into the Sutter County Jail on various weapons-related charges.
- Erick Adrian Bermudez Garcia (19) – Carrying a concealed firearm, possessing an unserialized firearm, and unlawful possession of large-capacity magazines.
- Cesar Julian Castillo (20) – Carrying a concealed firearm and possessing an unserialized firearm.
- Henry Hernandez Perez (19) – Carrying a concealed firearm and possessing an unserialized firearm.
