SST LTRJanuary 23, 2020 - Recent news of substantial existing employee pay raises has dismayed a number of citizens of Mariposa County, myself included.  Especially when the average taxpaying citizen has seen little or no improvement in living standards over the past 30 or so years, despite huge increases in TOT income.

1.  We still have no improvement in the condition of county roads, we still bump our cars into ruts and gravel, our roads are both dangerous and overgrown.

2.  We still have towns allowing unsightly and untended plots of privately owned land to flourish despite citizen protests of risk during dry fire seasons.

3.  We still see no attempts on the part of the Supervisory Board to invest in improving and attracting visitation despite urging by the citizens.

4.  We still read reports of huge consultation fees for ridiculous reasons such as a stupid "Logo".

And the list goes on, and on and on.

So we need to "induce" citizen involvement by offering such inducements as big pay?  What and who do you think will fall for such a scheme?  Certainly not the genuinely  concerned citizen.
