A Few Good Volunteers Needed!

The History Center community breakfasts have been taking place on the second Sunday of every month since the museum was nothing more than a vision.  The breakfasts raised the seed money that led to the eventual opening of the Coulterville Museum and has been an important fund-raiser over the decades, with the funds used to cover normal and sometimes extraordinary operating expenses… such as the new roof that now sits atop the office building.  It also is a wonderful time to run into friends and acquaintances and get to know new folks who have recently joined our community or are perhaps visiting for the first time.

Over the years, the volunteers who are the key to the success of the breakfasts have changed and there is always a need for new folks to step up.  Right now, the need is critical as several of our most long-term members are temporarily incapacitated or have moved away.   If you are able to volunteer, even for just a few months, please contact Fran Horn at (209) 878-3448!

The NMCHC was established as a 501c3 charitable organization in 1976 with the History Center opening to the public in 1980.  Open February through December, Wed. through Sunday from 10:00 A.M. - 4:00 P.M., the various displays and photos provide an authentic glimpse of the life and times of the pioneers who traveled west beginning with the 1849 California gold rush and subsequently helped settle the area through the early 1900’s.

Memberships and volunteer opportunities of all kinds to fit all sorts of interests are available.  Call (209) 878-3015 for more information or check out our website at: CoultervilleHistoryCenter.org.  Learn more by visiting the Northern Mariposa County History Center Facebook page.
