Pastors Corner

January 11, 2019 - Every week I prepare a sermon for Sunday. I don’t just write an outline but write an entire manuscript. I want to be precise in the words I use, and it is a nice way to make sure I don’t get off track. What I make sure to include every week in my sermon is the message that those who have faith in Christ have been redeemed. It is not a novel message, nor does it get old. Those who do not believe need to hear the good news of salvation in Christ. Those who do believe need to be constantly reminded of the definitive nature of the work of Christ.Elder Wynter Sturtevant

People though often fall into the trap of looking at their good works and think that through them they may find redemption. I must tell you that to pursue salvation by good works is the pursuit of shadows. A pursuit that seeks to run a race with broken knees. We cannot look to ourselves to redeem ourselves. Folks, look to God who through Christ redeems you. (Isaiah 43:1) It is Jesus Christ who saves us and removes the sting of death. This is the message that you Christian need to hear and that we must share. It is the Christian message that through Christ, you are forgiven.
