Homicide Detectives Identify Suspect; Seek Help Finding Him

March 27, 2024 - Fresno County Sheriff’s Office officials report that Homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office have identified 36-year-old Angel Edward Gaytan as the man responsible for committing a recent murder.  He is believed to be transient and frequents the area of McKinley Avenue and Chestnut Avenue in Fresno.

Around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 18th, EMS personnel responded to a report of an injured person along the side of the street, near Chestnut and Harvard Avenues in Fresno.  Medics found the man, later identified as 37-year-old Dominic Greco of Clovis, to be deceased.  Greco’s injuries were not consistent with a natural death, so EMS contacted the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office.  Deputies and homicide detectives responded to the scene.  Detectives determined this was a homicide.

Homicide detectives have since developed information that Gaytan is responsible for Greco's death.  If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact Detective Rudy Tafoya at (559) 600-8207, rudolpho.tafoya@fresnosheriff.org or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7867, www.valleycrimestoppers.org.   You will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward. Reference case #24-1990.

* If you see Angel Gaytan, do not approach him as he should be considered armed and dangerous.  Instead, contact law enforcement immediately.
