December 10, 2024 – Fresno Police Department officials report that on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 6:50 a.m., officers from the Southeast Policing District responded to the area of East Fillmore Avenue and South Hayston Avenue regarding a stabbing victim. When officers arrived, they found 46-year-old Gregory Delacruz unresponsive, inside the residence.  Delacruz was suffering from multiple stab wounds.  Officers and EMS Personnel attempted life-saving measures; however, Delacruz was unable to survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.  

Homicide investigators learned Delacruz resided at the location with family.  Delacruz awakened one of the occupants and told them he had just been assaulted and asked them to call 9-1-1.  An unknown person wearing a dark-colored hoodie was seen walking away from the residence after the stabbing.  Detectives believe Delacruz and the suspect knew each other and are currently looking for video footage that captured the suspect fleeing.  Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to please call the Fresno Police Department.
