Fatal Industrial Collision 

April 30, 2026 – Fresno County Sheriff's Office officials report that shortly after 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, deputies were dispatched to a call of an injured person. The location was a trucking repair yard located near the intersection of Belmont and Lafayette Avenues in Fresno.

Deputies arrived five minutes after the initial call and found a man in his 20s with major injuries. Deputies administered medical aid, but he ultimately passed away.

The preliminary information is a mechanic working in the yard got between a semi-truck (tractor) that was hooking up to a trailer. The man became pinned and was crushed during the process. Due to this being an industrial collision on private property, Cal-OSHA will handle the investigation.
