May 19, 2026 – Placer County Sheriff's Office officials report that a suspect wanted out of Sacramento County on a felony warrant for PRCS violations, with a criminal history that includes violent crimes, was taken into custody at approximately 4:30 p.m. on Monday after several hours.

Deputies had information that the wanted man was at a home on Val Vista Way in Auburn. When in the area, around 1:15 p.m., they saw him outside the home. When deputies tried to make contact, he went inside and refused to come out despite several deescalation attempts.

Due to his violent history, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Negotiation Team and Special Enforcement Team (SET) were called in to assist. Crisis negotiators were able to establish communication with the suspect by phone and quickly de-escalated the situation. Within minutes, the suspect agreed to surrender peacefully.

The negotiators provided instructions for the suspect to safely exit the home, where he was then taken into custody by members of the Special Enforcement Team.

Excellent work by the members of our Crisis Negotiation Team and Special Enforcement Team. Thankfully, this situation ended safely for everyone involved.
