Fatal Traffic Collision Investigation – Oakdale Road and Briggsmore Avenue 

June 13, 2026 – Modesto, CA – Modesto Police Department officials report that on Friday, June 12, 2026, at approximately 4:57 a.m., Modesto Police officers responded to a major traffic collision in the area of Oakdale Road and Briggsmore Avenue involving a rollover crash.

Preliminary information indicates the vehicle was traveling westbound on Briggsmore Avenue when it left the roadway, struck several boulders, and came to rest after colliding with multiple boats.

Personnel from the Modesto Fire Department responded to the scene and extricated the sole occupant from the vehicle. Despite lifesaving efforts, the driver, an adult male Modesto resident, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Modesto Police officers remain on scene conducting the investigation.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
