DUI Driver Arrested Following Injury Hit & Run Collision 

June 13, 2026 – Clovis Police Department officials report that a DUI driver has been arrested following CPD DUIan injury hit and run collision and short pursuit overnight. Just after 10:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 11, 2026, officers responded to the intersection of Jefferson and Brookhaven, near Barstow and Clovis, for report of an injury collision between a vehicle and pedestrian. The first arriving officer instructed an adult female driver of a car to remain on scene as they attempted life-saving measures on an adult male down in the roadway. During this time, the driver fled in her Toyota Camry, however, was stopped and arrested a short distance away by responding officers. The adult male pedestrian was transported to a local hospital where he remained in critical condition as of Friday morning.

Members of the Clovis Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) responded to the scene for the collision investigation. The driver has been identified as 45-year-old Francis Portillo of Clovis. Portillo was booked into Fresno County Jail for felony DUI, felony hit and run, evading officers, and possession of a control substance.
