June 24, 2026 - Sierra National Forest officials report the Marina Fire started on the Sierra National Forest (SNF) just before 2:30 p.m. on sierra national forest wildfire alertTuesday, June 23. The fire is burning off Malum Ridge Road (Rd 274), north of Marina View Drive on the Bass Lake Ranger District, in Madera County. The fire is contained at 1.5 acres.  SNF and Cal Fire are working under Unified Command in cooperation with the Madera County Sheriff's Office, and the California Highway Patrol.

Initial attack included one air tanker, one helicopter—now released, and four engines, two crews and a water tender.

Road 274 is currently closed while dozers and hand crews construct handline around the incident. They will continue to mop-up and secure snags.

Be advised, smoke may be visible from Bass Lake, Crane Valley, Wishon, Valley Vista, The Pines and other mountain communities.

Updates will continue should significant changes occur.
