August 21, 2026 – MARIPOSA, CA – John C. Fremont Healthcare District is celebrating 75 years of caring for the Mariposa community and is inviting the public to join in the celebration at a 75th Anniversary Community Open House on Thursday, September 24, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The celebration will take place on the front lawn of John C. Fremont Hospital, 5189 Hospital Road in Mariposa, and will be held in partnership with the Mariposa County Chamber of Commerce’s Network at Night.

Since 1951, John C. Fremont Healthcare District has served generations of Mariposa County residents, growing and evolving alongside the community it serves. The September celebration will offer an opportunity to reflect on that history, recognize the people who have helped shape the District, and look ahead to the future of local healthcare.

“Reaching 75 years is an incredible milestone for our District and our community,” said Stacey Kuzak, CEO of John C. Fremont Healthcare District. “Generations of employees, physicians, board members, volunteers and community members have contributed to John C. Fremont’s story. We’re excited to bring everyone together to celebrate that history and look forward to what comes next.”

The idea for the Open House grew from a desire to make the District’s 75th anniversary a celebration shared with the entire community.

“When we started talking about how to recognize 75 years, I really wanted it to be more than simply acknowledging the milestone,” said Zack Peckinpah, Public Information Officer for John C. Fremont Healthcare District. “John C. Fremont has been part of this community for generations, and so many people have a connection to the District. This felt like an opportunity to bring everyone together, celebrate those memories and the people who got us here, and give the community a chance to be part of what comes next.”

Partnering the celebration with Network at Night brings together two organizations with a longstanding history of serving and connecting the Mariposa community.

“The Chamber is grateful for our longstanding partnership with John C. Fremont Healthcare District, and we’re excited to bring Network at Night back to JCF for such a meaningful occasion. For decades, our organizations have worked alongside one another in support of the Mariposa community, and it’s an honor to continue that partnership as we celebrate this milestone together,” said Kari Kisela, Mariposa County Chamber of Commerce.

The community is invited to stop by anytime between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The evening will include raffle prizes, historic photos and memories, opportunities to connect with District leadership, light appetizers and refreshments, beer & wine with the Mariposa Chamber, family-friendly activities, hospital tours and a celebration of the people and community who have made 75 years possible

Current and former employees, patients and families, community partners, Chamber members and all members of the community are encouraged to attend.

The District will also celebrate its 75th anniversary during the Mariposa County Fair and Labor Day Parade, September 4-7, leading into the Thursday, September 24 Open House.
