Lane & Ramp Closures on State Routes 99 & 165 for August 30 – September 5, 2026 

August 29, 2026 – Merced County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have traffic controls in place for the following construction and maintenance activities on State Route 99, (SR-99) and SR-165 in Merced County next week. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

State Route 99

  • Overnight full on-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at Mission Ave. over-crossing for striping operation on Sunday, August 30 through Friday, September 4, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on-ramp closure on northbound SR-99 and SR-59/MLK Jr. Way for paving operation on Sunday, August 30 through Friday, September 04, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 and SR-59/MLK Jr. Way for paving operation on Sunday, August 30 through Friday, September 04, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full off ramp closure for southbound SR-99 at 16th St. under-crossing for paving operations on Sunday, August 30 through Friday, September 04, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full off ramp closure for northbound SR-99 at 16th St. under-crossing for paving operations on Sunday, August 30 through Thursday, September 03, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on and off-ramps closure on SR-99 northbound and southbound at Winton Parkway overcrossing for paving operation on Sunday, August 30 through Friday, September 04, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on and off ramp closure for northbound and southbound SR-99 at Shanks Rd. overpass for paving operation on Sunday, August 30 through Friday, September 04, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on and off ramp closure for northbound and southbound SR-99 at Bradbury Rd. overpass for paving operation on Sunday, August 30 through Friday, September 04, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full off-ramp closure for northbound SR-99 at South Turlock overpass/Golden State Blvd for paving operation on Sunday, August 30 through Friday, September 04, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

State Route 165

  • Overnight one-way traffic control on SR-165 northbound and southbound at Crane Ave. for utility work on Sunday, August 30 through Friday, September 04, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
