September 24, 2026 – Clovis Police Department officials report that Clovis Fire and Police responded to a mobile home fire at Woods Mobile Homes, located at 1001 Sylmar Avenue in Clovis. Several 911 calls reported the fire on September 21, 2026, just after 7:20 P.M. Clovis Fire personnel, with assistance from the Fresno Fire Department, worked collaboratively to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring mobile homes.

Following the fire, first responders located a deceased resident inside the home. Currently, the Fresno County Coroner's Office is working to positively identify the decedent. A dog belonging to the resident was also located following the fire. Thankfully, the dog was unharmed and safely turned over to family members.

The Clovis Fire Department is investigating the cause and origin of the fire and Clovis Police is conducting the death investigation. At this time, there are no suspicious circumstances associated with this incident, and no one else is believed to have been in the home at the time.

A Clovis Police officer sustained minor injuries related to the fire and received appropriate medical attention. We would like to thank the Fresno Fire Department and American Ambulance for their assistance.
