October 9, 2026 – Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on October 5, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m., a Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office K-9 deputy with our Community Resource Unit attempted to stop a reported stolen red Dodge near Service Road and Morgan Road in Ceres. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed, ran a stop sign north of Blaker Road, and eventually stopped near Don Pedro Park.
The 16-year-old driver fled on foot but was apprehended by K-9 Hondo in the park. Four additional juveniles, ages 15 and 16, fled through the park and into nearby yards before being located and arrested following a search.
All five juveniles were booked into Juvenile Hall. The driver faces charges of vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, and resisting or obstructing an officer. The four passengers face charges of possession of a stolen vehicle and resisting or obstructing an officer.
The vehicle was originally reported stolen to the California Highway Patrol. We thank the Ceres Police Department for their assistance during this incident and to a good samaritan who stopped the stolen vehicle from damaging any property.
