October 14, 2026 – Tulare County Sheriff’s Office officials report that just after midnight on September 27, 2026, TCSO Deputies were called to the 20800 Block of Francis Drive in Richgrove for a shooting.

When Deputies arrived, they found a man who had been shot. CPR was given, but the man was pronounced dead on scene.

Through the course of the investigation, Detectives identified 22-year-old Jacob Ramirez Aguilar as the sole suspect. Over the last two weeks, through surveillance, Detectives were able to track him down to the 600 Block of Kensington Street in Delano.

On October 13, 2026, the TCSO SWAT Team, Homicide Unit and CATTCH Team, along with Detectives from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, served a search warrant at the location and found Aguilar. He was booked into the South County Detention Facility on murder charges.

This is the second time Aguilar has been arrested for murder. He was arrested as a juvenile in December 2020 for his involvement in the death of a store owner in Wuakena during an armed robbery. Aguilar was found guilty in that case but was released in May of 2026 as “time served” and not placed on probation or parole. Just four months after his release, he is back in jail for murder once again.
