This is Why Stop Signs Matter 

October 25, 2026 – Merced CHP officials report that officers responded to a two-vehicle collision near 3rd Avenue and McCullagh Road. Both vehicles sustained significant damage, but thankfully, only minor injuries were reported.

Broadside collisions can be some of the most violent crashes we respond to, and the damage in these photos speaks for itself.

When approaching a stop sign, come to a complete stop, look both ways, and make sure the intersection is clear before proceeding. Never assume another driver will stop or yield.

Those few extra seconds could save a life.
