May 28, 2022 - On Saturday, June 25, 2022, the Mariposa Mountain Riders along with the Mariposa Sheriff’s Posse will host an Obstacle Clinic, Lunch and Competition at Camp Creek Ranch located at 3097 Triangle Road (just behind the Triangle Store) in Mariposa. The event will include a morning clinic where riders and their horses can work with a clinician on various obstacles, promoting safety and good horsemanship as part of the education. Later they will break for lunch which is being prepared and served by Granny’s Grub and in the afternoon the obstacles will be reconfigured so that a competition can be held. This event will also allow some of the Posse members to go through their annual horse and rider qualifications.
Divisions include: Youth, Novice, Intermediate, and Advance classes.
The cost is $75 per horse and rider entry for the day and must be prepaid. Limited to one horse-rider combo as entries are limited. No dogs please. Helmets are required for those participants 17 and under. Bring your own water bucket for your horse. You do not have to be a member of either organization to participate, however if you are a participating member or if you join one or both of the organizations that day, your name will be placed in a special drawing!

The Mariposa Mountain Riders is a local organization who has hosted a variety of equestrian events for the public and for their members. Preserving riding trails, promoting better horsemanship, supporting legislation that benefits horsemen and supporting horse related activities has been their mission for over 40 years. The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Posse is a dedicated volunteer organization, whose focus is to serve the community on behalf of the Sheriff’s Department by assisting in public relations, education and with emergency and disaster services as needed.
