February 5, 2024 - Community preparations are underway for the famous delicious 75th Annual Hornitos Enchilada Dinner to be held in Historic Hornitos, on Saturday, March 2, 2024. Takeout orders will be available, and you can also dine in the park. Orders will be available for pickup from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Golden Stag Hall located at 2884 Bear Valley Road in Hornitos. Featured are the famous Enchiladas or delicious Chicken Pie with Cole Slaw, Beans, Salsa, Garlic Bread, Beverage, and Dessert. Adult meal tickets are $20, and children meal tickets are $9.
Enjoy a leisurely drive through the beautiful foothills, visit the local establishments, and experience the rich history and atmosphere of the historic town and taste the delicious dinner prepared by the Hornitos Patrons Club members, community residents and friends.
This event will be held rain or shine.
Local craft vendors and entertainment. The entertainment will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. with Hacienda Valencia, Mariachi Oro California Mariachi Band, and UC Merced Dancers (Ballet Folkorico Cielo Y Mar).
Sponsored by the Hornitos Patrons Club, members are responsible for numerous projects and activities in Hornitos and Mariposa County. Monies are donated to the Cancer Society, CASA, 2 Mariposa High School Graduation Scholarships, Field of Service, stove appliances & fan for Stag Hall, weed abatement of the cemetery & jail including improvements for church, Manna House, Mariposa High School Grad Night, Mariposa High School Student Loan, Monies donated to United Fund for Planada and Merced Flood victims, Back-to-School Party including all supplies for children, and preservation of history in town of Hornitos with plaques and maps.
The club also hosts the 37th Annual Flea Market on Sunday, October 6, 2024 (always the first Sunday in October) and All Soul’s Day Candle Lighting ceremony on Saturday, November 2, 2024 (always on November 2nd).
