Organized Retail Grand Theft Arrest

March 28, 2024 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on March 18, 2024, at 4:03 p.m., deputies riverside county sheriff logoassigned to the Cabazon Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a business in the 48000 block of Seminole Drive in Cabazon regarding a grand theft. When deputies arrived, the four suspects had fled the scene, but they proceeded with the investigation.

During the investigation, one of the suspects was identified as Maurice Loujean Bell, a 39-year-old resident of San Bernardino. The investigation also revealed Bell was involved in an Organized Retail Crime ring (ORC), targeting shoe stores throughout Southern California, with an estimated loss of over $150,000.

On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, Cabazon Sheriff’s Station patrol deputies, the Crime Suppression Unit, and Investigations Unit served a search warrant of Bell’s San Bernardino residence. Bell was arrested and booked at the Larry Smith Correctional Facility for burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime, and organized retail theft. Additional investigations will be conducted to identify additional suspects related to the thefts.
