September 28, 2022 - The Mariposa County Sheriff's Office reports our search and rescue team doesn’t usually get involved with missing animals but a dog named, Ash, happened to go missing near a Sheriff’s Office employees home.

She located Ash on Tuesday evening after hearing him bark and howl so she called in reinforcements to help get him out.

According to a Facebook post Ash went missing 3 days ago. He was found on Tuesday evening at the bottom of an old spring cistern approximately 10 feet down. The top/lid had burned over in the Oak Fire.

Ash has been reunited with his owner.

The Sheriff's Office reports that’s how we like to end our Tuesdays! And we can confirm he is the nicest dog in the world!
