March 28, 2017 - A man will spend 51 months in prison for sexually assaulting another man in Yosemite National Park.

Floyd Fowler, age 54, will spend three years on supervised probation following his prison term. Additional terms of his probation include mandatory participation in a sex offender treatment and therapy program, and cooperation in the collection of his DNA as directed by probation officers.

Fowler pleaded guilty to felony Abusive Sexual Contact after an incident in April 2016, and was recently sentenced in federal court. On probation for previous crimes of violence at the time of the assault, Fowler was wearing a monitoring device on his ankle. He was also an employee of a park concessioner. 

The investigation and successful prosecution was a strong collaborative effort between US Park Rangers, ISB Special Agents, and the US Attorney's Office of the Eastern District of California.
