April 19, 2024 - Monterey County Sheriff’s Office officials report Sheriff’s Office and King City Police Department investigators are officially announcing that they have developed information monterey county sheriff logo april 19 2024connecting the King City mass shooting and the double homicide of two cousins that occurred just outside of Soledad.

On March 3, 2024, 11 persons were shot during a mass shooting at a birthday party on the 200 block of Second Street in King City. 7 were injured and 4 were killed. On February 4th, 2024, two cousins were shot and killed during a double homicide that occurred on Los Coches Road.

As part of the ongoing investigation, over 50 search warrants have been served. Because of this work, on the morning of April 18th, 2024, agencies from King City Police, Monterey County Sheriff’s Office and other allied agencies served additional search warrants on the 200 block of 6th Street and 3000 block of 11th Street in Greenfield.

There have been several ancillary arrests related to these crimes as investigators work towards solving these murders. Several persons of interest have been generated and all leads are being investigated. While we can confirm the suspects in this case have gang connections, the Sheriff’s Office cannot stress enough the innocence of all victims.

The public’s help has been instrumental in making these connections. Further details cannot be released at this time as this investigation is ongoing.
