April 16, 2024 - Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 11:40 a.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic rcsd416.2Bureau were flagged down regarding a possible road rage incident. Deputies determined a firearm was pointed at the victim and their juvenile, who was in the backseat. With the assistance of surveillance cameras, the suspect vehicle was identified and located in the 13000 block of Scotty Lane, Moreno Valley. The suspect was arrested and identified as Christopher Griffin, a 35-year-old resident of Moreno Valley. Inside the suspect’s vehicle, a loaded AR-15-type rifle was located.

A search warrant was authored and approved for the search of the suspect’s residence. The search warrant yielded a loaded AK-type rifle, a loaded .22 caliber revolver, and multiple calibers of ammunition.

The suspect was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon, child endangerment, and firearms violations. This is an ongoing investigation, and no additional details are available.
