September 28, 2022 - As the incumbent School Board member for District #1, I am proud to endorse Kim Monson to take my place.  I have studied all of the candidates, and I feel very confident that Kim is the most qualified. She is extremely smart, and she understands how school districts function.  Kim has the unique perspective of having worked in both private industry as an aerospace engineer and also in education as a chemistry and physics teacher.  She understands the work that School Board members must do in preparation for all meetings, and she understands the duties and purpose of being on the School Board.  Some of the candidates have never even attended a school board meeting and obviously from what I have read, some candidates don't even know what a School Board member's job encompasses.

I have known Kim since she moved to Mariposa because we are both involved in AAUW (American Association of University Women).  I know she has done volunteer work with several other organizations in Mariposa as well.  I have visited her classroom and watched her teaching (before she retired).  She cared deeply about her students and was willing to do whatever necessary when she saw needs that were not being met.  She is a true Student Advocate.  An example:  Kim brought the Academic Decathlon to Mariposa to challenge our brightest students.

Please join me in voting for this hardworking, honest, caring candidate who will dedicate herself to all of the duties of a successful School Board Trustee.  Thank you!
